Research shows that the New Zealand economy could benefit by $30b by 2050 if government and businesses act now to combat climate change.
I recently attended the Climate-X Orientation and met many like-minded people from various backgrounds/organisations, all wanting to make a difference and ready to act. The main event, a 3-day Sprint, starts on Thursday, 11 July.
On Day 1, you will either pitch an idea or join a team to work on one of these ideas. You'll have three days to work on a solution in your team. There will be mentors and experts present to support teams along the way. Post Sprint, you have the opportunity to get access to funding, ongoing mentorship etc. to actually make the idea come to life.
Opportunities like this don’t come up often, and you don’t need any particular skills/experience; you just need to want to act to make a difference, and be willing to work with others to make this happen.
The next Orientation is on 26 June (4-6pm). You will learn more about what to expect and it will give you a flavour of how working together in a short period of time with a diverse group of passionate people can be really valuable.
